For us to properly prepare your budget or schedule, we need to gather quite a bit of information from you. First, we need your script, which you must submit with a signed release. You can send the script electronically, if possible, in pdf format, or send a hard copy but we MUST have the signed release, either faxed or sent snail-mail, before we look at it.

Our address is:

The Insider's Guide to
Independent Film Production
7280 Packwood Trail
Los Angeles, CA 90068

(If you pay by check, make it out to KDI Films, Inc. and mail to above address.)

Also, please cut and paste the following questions into an email, with appropriate answers and send it to kinderbitzin@yahoo.com.

  1. What budget range do you have in mind?

  2. Do you have a number of shooting days in mind?

  3. Do you have a location in mind, state and city? If it's not going to
be in Los Angeles, do you have strong feelings about which cast and crew
members you would want to bring from LA?

  4. If you are shooting in LA, are you prepared to shoot non-IATSE (non-union)? California is not a right-to-work state.

  5. Is the writer in the WGA? Has a fee for the script been discussed?

  6. Is there a director attached? Is he/she in the DGA? If no one is
attached do you plan to use someone who is in the DGA? Has a fee been discussed?

  7. Do you plan to use SAG actors? Has a fee been discussed with any actor?

  8. How many people are attached to produce? Have fees been discussed?

  9. Are there any other deals or attachments? In other words, has anyone else been promised something monetarily?

  10. Are you shooting 35 mm, HD or DV?

  11. Do you plan to use a payroll company to pay cast and/or crew? Or do you plan to 1099 cast and/or crew?

Once we receive your payment, script, release, and answers to the above questions, we can generally prepare a budget in 2-4 weeks. If you need it sooner than that please contact us before submitting your project.

Budgets are provided in MovieMagic or PDF format. If you need the budget in Excel format, it's $600 more. Please add that to your price list below.

All below prices assume project is shot in the United States and is non-IATSE. If project does not meet these two criteria, please contact us for an individualized quote.

Film Budgeting *A Convenience Fee of 3% has been added if you pay by Paypal. You may pay by check to above address to avoid this added fee.
